Bully Big Map

Bullworth is a town in New England and is the setting of the game Bully. The town has six main districts and resembles a small North East Coastal city. The population of all boroughs combined is 128,000, according to a sign in the introduction sequence. However there are far fewer characters that appear in the game.

Districts[]

Bullworth Academy[]

Bullworth Academy is the towns independent boarding school for the nation's children, and is the main setting within the town. The school itself consists of various buildings and houses many of the school's students. There is also a store from which the player can buy clothes for Jimmy, situated on the ground floor.

Bullworth Town[]

Bullworth Town is the commercial borough of the town, housing many of the town's shops and the town hall. The area is frequented by Nerds, but the Greasers and the Townies also appear in the area while the Bullies can be found hanging around outside the Motel. It also appears to house many apartments.

Old Bullworth Vale[]

Old Bullworth Vale is a borough, which has two main areas. There is a shopping section, smaller than Bullworth Town, and a residential area, which houses many of the wealthier residents of the town. This includes the Preppies, Mr. Hattrick and the leader of the Bullies, Russell Northrop. It has a beach facing an ocean inlet, and is also where the carnival is located.

New Coventry[]

New Coventry is the run-down, urban-poor borough, consisting of mainly tenement housing. There are few shops, housing the poorer residents of the town. The district is the hang-out of the Greasers clique, although the Townies do appear individually in parts of New Coventry.

Blue Skies Industrial Park[]

Blue Skies Industrial Park is the industrial borough of the town and is home to the Townies clique. The area houses the poorest residents of the town and mainly consists of factories and industrial buildings.

Happy Volts Asylum[]

The Happy Volts Asylum is the town's psychiatric institute and houses many inmates, some of whom are also Townies. The Asylum is located between Blue Skies Industrial Park and Bullworth Academy.

Existence in the Grand Theft Auto continuity[]

It has never been confirmed by Rockstar Games whether or not Bullworth exists in any of the GTA Universes (2D, 3D, and HD), and there is circumstantial evidence both for and against the possibility.

Assuming Bully does exist within the 3D Universe, it would have been the final game released in that Universe and therefore there are no references to it in other 3D Era games. Bully was released well after the 2D Era ended, so naturally there are no references to it in those games.

The strongest evidence that Bullworth exists in the GTA HD Universe is an appearance on I'm Rich, a reality television show that can be watched within Grand Theft Auto IV. A character named Jill Von Crastenburg is profiled on I'm Rich, and the narrator that she went to 15 exclusive boarding schools. While the narrator is speaking, the screen pans across the front of Bullworth Academy. There is debate among fans as to whether this was confirmation that Jill attended Bullworth, or whether it was merely an easter egg.

A second possible link between the two games is the Sequel movie series. Sequel: The Movie plays at the theater in Bullworth Town, and Sequel II plays at a theater in Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V.

There was a false claim made that GTA 4 protagonist Niko Bellic referenced attending Bullworth Academy "until patch 1.14, when [the game] was changed to say he attended Bulford Academy." This was entirely false, as GTA 4 never had a Patch 1.14, and Niko was said to have attended Bulford University in England from Patch 1.0. This was added to the GTA Wiki, where citogenesis caused it to spread around the internet.

Although the Bully developers deliberately kept the timeframe Bully took place in vague, a banner in the Jocks Clubhouse indicates that the school won a pennant in Baseball in 1997, ergo, the events of Bully happened no earlier than 1998 and, as such, after the events of Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, Vice City, and San Andreas.

Existence in the Red Dead Redemption continuity[]

It is within the realm of possibility, although far from confirmed, that Bully and the Red Dead Redemption series take place in the same universe.

In Grand Theft Auto IV, a book titled "Red Dead" written by J. Marston can be seen on bookshelves throughout Liberty City. The character Jack Marston in Red Dead Redemption wanted to become a writer. Although RDR ended with Jack living as an outlaw, it is possible that later in life he did settle down, become an author, and write the events of RDR and its prequel Red Dead Redemption II as a biographical novel. If this is taken as evidence that GTA and RDR share a universe, and if it is taken from the evidence above that Bully and GTA share a universe, then Bully and RDR share a universe by extension.

In RDR2, a skeleton of conjoined twins wearing Delilah and Jezebel's purple dress can be seen in one of the cars of a circus train. However this is clearly just an easter egg, as RDR2 took place a century before Bully.
